Project Update

The new poles have arrived. Crews will begin installing them later today. The pole installation work is expected to continue through the weekend. Once the new poles have been installed, crews will begin removing the old Muni poles. The existing pole removal work is expected to commence next week and will occur during the day.

Overnight Work
Crews are scheduled to begin the Muni wire switch-over work tonight. This work will be low-impact since it'll pretty much consist of a boom-lift truck and crews relocating the wires. Because of the necessary tie-in work and switch over to the new poles, the Muni wire relocation overnight work is expected to continue for the next 3 weeks. Overnight parking on Castro Street will be limited since crews will need to access the poles in order to tie-in/switch-over the wires. We apologize for the overnight inconvenience and parking restrictions. The overnight work is expected to begin at 8pm and will conclude at 5am.

This Week
Crews continue work at the Jane Warner Plaza. The contractor has begun work on the pedestrian island and curb ramps at the Market & Castro intersection.

Thank you for your continued patience. We're in the home stretch with only a few more weeks to go.
