Project Update

This past week was a busy week. We repaved Castro, installed bike racks & leaning rails, planted trees, etched sidewalks, and much more. We also completed the rainbow crosswalk at Castro & 18th. The crosswalks look amazing and we've been receiving a lot of positive feedback. As you may have seen, the entire stamping, thermoplastic inlay, and heat-up process took a while to complete. Luckily, DPW Project Manager John Dennis was available to lend a helping hand (see picture).

Next week we're scheduled to begin curb-ramp construction work at Jane Warner Plaza. We're also waiting on several items to arrive including the tree stakes, bricks (Castro Theater), and Muni poles. We'll begin installation once they arrive.

Also, crews have begun demobilizing their materials and equipment from the area in advance of the Castro Street Fair. Crews may still be on-site tomorrow with any remaining clean-up work. We'll be back in full swing on Monday.

We're in the home stretch. Thank you for your continued patience.
