Project Update:
Crews continue planting the ginko trees. We've got about a handful of trees that still need to be planted on Castro. That work will continue next week.

Also, we're really excited to report that the King Palm trees will begin arriving next week. We've got 24 palms trees scheduled to be planted along Castro Street as part of this project. Public Works' contractor will begin planting the palms once they arrive.

Weekend Work:
The contractor is scheduled to work this weekend. Crews are scheduled to demo out the corner near the Bank of America (18th & Castro) in order to build a bulb-out. The demo work will begin around 6am on Saturday. We apologize for the early start time. Crews are also scheduled to begin framing both the Harvey's corner (18th & Castro/ SW) and also the Bank of America corner (18th & Castro/ SE). Both corners are scheduled for cement pours on Monday.

Next Week:
On Monday crews are scheduled to begin the sidewalk demo work in front of the Castro Theater. The sidewalk in place right now was installed as a temporary measure in advance of Pride 2014. Crews will demo, frame, pour the new sidewalk, and install the decorative bricks. This work will continue through the week and even into the following week.

Also, the Water Department is scheduled to continue their tie-in work with the new water line.

Final Grinding & Paving on Castro:
The final grinding and paving has been scheduled overnight for Sunday 9/28 and Monday 9/29. We'll send out a "construction update" next week to confirm the dates.

Thank you for all your help in making this a successful project.
